All three faiths: Judaism, Christianity, Islam honor Abraham as their father. So all worship the same God, though with different understandings. God said that all nations of the earth would be blessed through Abraham. Some equate this promise to the Jews. Some say it only applies to the Messiah. He also said to Ishmael that he (God) would make of him a great nation. The prophets in the Bible state that at the end of time God will call Assyria and Egypt blessed as well as the Jews and Israel. It is unfortunate that some consider the Arabs the enemy. It was not Isaac and Ishmael that were enemies, it was Jacob and Esau. And anyone who equates Esau with Islam is being dishonest. And just because the Old Testament says that God hated someone in the past doesn't mean that God hates that person today. Any Christians reading who have ears to hear? Most fighting among these three groups today is simply consequences of historical injustices: reaping what has been sown.

The Jewish God,YHWH, is the same as the Christian God, the Father of Jesus. But the Jews don't recognise that.

I believe Mohammed was a false prophet (though he may have started off OK). Nevertheless, Allah is the Arabic for the one true God, however Muslims perceive Him.

When an Arab Muslim becomes a Christian, he continues to use "Allah" for God.

Etymologically, Allah is related to the Hebrew "Elohim", the most common word for God in the Hebrew scriptures and in modern Hebrew, apart from "HaShem", which means "the Name". Elohim is actually plural.

Yes. At least we are clear that the Jewish God is the same Christian God. I just don't know with the Muslims because they are seemingly going against what God really want for this world: love and peace.

I was just doing a little research before I would put my opinion on this question. From what I have read Allah does seem to be the same God just called by a different name. God after all does admittedly have many different names. It's when people began to call God a She and Goddess or that speaks of a God that goes totally against the teaching that real God teaches that you know that the name by which someon is calling God is not the one true God. I say yes.

Jews, Christians and Muslims all believe in Allah the the Father, keeper of the Covenant with Abraham. That is where the schism comes in - after Abraham.

Yes...

We all have the same God

The foundation of Islamic teaching begins with God, whom Muslims call 'Allah'. The name Allah comes from the Arabic language and literally means the one and only God, as opposed to any old god with a small 'g'.

The Qur'an itself declares that Allah is the same God that spoke to the Jews and Christians. Therefore, when Muslims speak about God, they have in mind that it is the God of Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad. Even Arab Christians, who speak the Arabic language, say 'Allah' when they talk about God. (the Spanish word for God is Dios, yet nobody makes the claim that it is a different God!)

The Qur'an states in this way:

"Tell (the Jews and Christians), 'We believe in the revelation which has come down to us {the Qur'an} and in that which came down to you {the Torah and Gospel}; Our God and your God is one; and it's to Him we surrender" (Qur'an 29:46)

Muslims prefer to use the name 'Allah' no matter what language is being spoken. This is because the proper name for the supreme deity cannot be made plural or altered in any way grammatically in Arabic.

No they're not. God Almighty (the Christian God and the ONLY God) is not Allah. When Muhammad had his revelation...epiphany...delusion or whatever...he chose Allah, god of the moon, out of the 365 gods the Muslims believed in at the time. This is why Muslims have a moon on their flag and must travel to Mecca to kiss the rock that fell from the moon. God Almighty did not speak to Muhammad...after Jesus died on the cross there was not a need for anymore prophets because the prophecy had been fufilled.
