The winners of Euro-vision host the contest the next year (at their expense of course).

Do you think that the BBC have fielded a really bad song (sung by a cross between 'The Fast Food Rockers' & the cast of 'Mile High') in order NOT to win the contest and have the hassle & expense of hosting it in 2008?

............ If you don't know who 'The Fast Food Rockers' are - You are very lucky, don't be tempted to look them up. I sadly saw their song on TV once by chance and their song lodged itself in my brain ever since.

The song is that bad, it would probabley win.
I am afraid to say that i have heard The Fast food Rockers song, and what a load of rubbish.
Don't the public pick by voteing which song goes through?

I'd say the quality of any song the UK puts forward is questionable, but even if they entered the best song ever written there would be very few votes cast in our favour.

The Europeans just don't like us very much, something I've never managed to lose any sleep over. Just like Euro-Vision in fact.

Britain is one of the major financial backers of the Eurovision so no matter what happens, we're out of pocket. Anyone remember when Ireland couldn't stop winning it and there was that Father Ted episode about them deliberately choosing My Lovely Horse though? Heh heh. The real plot is how all the countries choose their neighbours or political allies regardless of the song.

I think you've got it in one. I've never such a bad song, it makes me cringe. Father Ted's entry of "My Lovely Horse" puts ours to shame!....Aw, somebody already mentioned Ted's song

Does the song 'my lovely horse' spring to minds?

'I want to shower you in sugar lumps
and take you to the horse dentist...'
