Since she's not your mother, it makes no sense to get her anything.

What I like to get for mother's day can't be bought at a store. I like things that are made and have thought to them. Like breakfast in bed. My daughter drew me a picture of my grandbaby. That was the greatest gift ever. Maybe you can find an artist who can do something like that for you.

Flowers - her favorite kind, plus
A sweet but not gushy card, plus
an entire day of smiles and agreement from the whole family - no matter what

Every day from now on -

at least 4 hugs and 12 kisses spaced throughout the day
Tell her you love her (and mean it this time) at least twice a day - 3 times is better.
Listen (don't just hear) to what she says.
Ask her how she's feeling - and listen to her answer.

Get her a single rose, keep it simple. Now for what you can DO FOR HER- make her breakfast, clean the house, take care of the kids, and pamper her all day. It's not what you buy, it's what you do on mother's day that counts!

I just bought my fiance a GPS navigation system for her car. She loves it!

If your wife drives a lot or is bad with directions, she'll love one of these handy gadgets. Popular brands are Garmin and TomTom (though there are plenty of others).

Men make the mistake of giving practical gifts. Though appreciated, that's not what women want. Make that day completely about her. Take her some place you normally wouldn't. Do things for her that you normally wouldn't. Be affectionate. Let her know what you love abour her. Sounds corny, but trust me, she'll appreciate it!

You can never go wrong with jewelry. Flowers are nice if they are accenting a bigger gift. Also women love perfume as well.

how old are your kids ? take them out and let them choose a gift, make sure she knows they picked it out. if they are older then they should be getting the gift themselves.
