Try: http://www.archives.gov/veterans/evetrecs/

It takes about a month and you get two free certified copies.

Something is missing here. When you leave active duty and out-process, they are VERY careful about getting you your DD-214...it was almost a ritual..they give it to you, they tell you to make sure you get a certified copy on file at your local courthouse, etc. It's not like they said, "It's in the mail, have a nice day."

What happened that you were not able to get your DD 214 in person?

That being said, I would recommend starting at HRC St Louis...www.hrc.army.mil. When they say that it has been sent ot "personel records" that's probably what the meant. Try clicking on my record and logging in (with your AKO if you still have it). If not, try the helpful links. Also, try the link below.

If your AKO account is still active, log onto that and click IPERMS on the right hand side of your screen. Your DD214 will be located under your service section of that site. Otherwise, contact your district congressman's local office and they will find you the form in a very short period of time.

Start going up the chain.

Do you have names and dates from who you did speak with?

Hubby says they all go to some storage facility in Missouri - and to go to your nearest military installation and try.
