I was with a female walking down the side of the road, near some woods, I guess, and we saw a skunk that was about to spray;we got away in time because we didn't smell anything and felt relieved--the skunk image was quite vivid!

By skunk so you mean the animal or some urban myth or a gang? Has someone you know been attacked or even killed by one? If so that is your answer, you are obviously nervous and scared of this happening to you if its the animal skunk then maybe go to a petting zoo and pet one gently to see how harmless they are. If Skunks are unrelated to you then you mentioned that there was someone helping the skunk attack you, well this could mean that the skunk symbolizes something you are fearing and you are scared that one day you will be 'ganged up on' and hurt/killed. These are very strange dreams you are experiencing but most likely the skunk is symbolizing something that you are avoiding, in your dream if you can try to not fight back or run and let the skunk do what it needs to do and usually this will make everything disappear as you have now overcome your fear. Whenever I try to figure out my dreams, they are often pictorial scenes that have a literal pun to what I was thinking...
For example, in real life, you may have thought "This stinks" when you were partnered with this person in some way, but then later found out that it was not so bad after all.
