my first born was talking on the phone and carrying around a tigger "doll" at about the age of 11-13 months and now he is an extremely imaginative person {at 3 1/2 years old}. Just yesterday he was pretending to be a puppy dog and would only "talk" to me if I called him by puppy dog. and my second born who just turned 2 has been very creative for about a year now. She has a baby doll that she sleeps with and that we have named dolly. It goes everywhere with her if she's staying somehwer eover night. She has a few baby dolls that she plays with all the time. And we just recently bought her a carseat and stroller for her dolls and she loves pretending to be mommy with them. Just remember to encourage your children to use their imaginations. If your child pretends to be a dog, treat him like a dog. Rub him behind the ears and on the belly and call him a good little puppy dog. Because all you are doing is enriching their minds when you do that. And it also gives you a chance to goof off and be a child again.

My 16 month old has been playing with dolls since she was about 1 year old and she has been able to hold the phone to her ear for a couple of months now. Every child is different and it really just depends on what your child is interested in at the time.

It depends, but mine started around one and is now just two. She plays tea party, dolls, pretends to be different animals or a princess, pretends to eat, she even pretends different emotions. Her dad and I are pretty silly people and we've always pretended silly things like bugs on her while we tickle her or flying to her bath tub, or that she's invisible. If you pretend they catch on very quickly.

Every child is different but my whole family has cell phones and I have a nephew that wanted to talk on the "cell phone" we got him before he was even able to talk. I would say generally around year old.
