one of the probable causes is that your shampoo is too strong. try diluting the shampoo with water before you lather it onto your hair. it also helps to shampoo the lower back portion of your head first before the upper part (crown). try using a comb instead of a brush to lessen the tension if you have tangles to prevent more hair loss. try using aloe vera too :)

Hi. First dont run off to a doctor right away. You are 14 and you are still going through hormonal changes. So your losing a lot of hair could be just a puberty change. Also did something change, like your diet or taking pills? Check that.

In preparation to washing your hair, put it in 5 - 7 big loose braids, not too tight. When you wash your hair, only apply shampoo to your scalp. Dont rub your hair vigorously. You will cause your hair to be tangled and more hair might come out. Massage it in your scalp. When you condition, take one braid out, put conditioner, finger comb to take out tangles, then braid it back. Do this to the remaining braids. Then wash out the conditioner. You should also deep condition with heat once a week. This will help keep your hair strong.

Try not to comb your hair when in the shower. Use your fingers. If you have a good conditioner, it will take out the tangles for you. DONT use a brush on wet hair! You could use the brush when your hair is tangle free and dry, but dont use the brush that often. Constant brushing and combing is not good for hair.

Another thing is to take a multivitamin like One a day, namebrand or generic (both are the same) and a separate hair vitamin that has biotin in it. An example is GNC healthy hair, nails and skin. Dont buy the high dosage one, Your body only stores so much vitamins and will flush the rest out, especially since the high dosage one is like $30. Eat more veggies and fruits. I know you are only 14, but try to do the best you can. Even if you dont have veggies and fruits all the time, the vitamins will give you the nutrients you missed.

You should invest in some good products for your hair. Try to look for mostly or all natural hair products. Products on the market have lots of chems and that could be something to think about as a factor in your problem. Here are some websites to take a look at:

www.janecartersolution.com
www.johnmasters.com
www.longlovelylocks.com
www.jessicurl.com
www.naturallycurly.com
www.honeyfig.com

Some of these websites have products geared for curly hair, but can be also used for straight hair. They have good moisturizing creams that can be used for straight hair so it wont be dry (which is why some people lose the silkiness) and hair gloss (to get that shine). Try it and see. You can also find some in pharmacies stores, but its very hard to find natural products there (maybe Burt's bees). Do your info and read the labels. If you try everything and it doesnt help, then you should tell your doctor. I hope this helps you somewhat and sorry this is long. God bless.

The first step is to locate the root cause in your diet or lifestyle that may be increasing the acidic nature. Once you locate it, try to give up or at least reduce the diet, habit, or activity responsible for increasing acidity.
Always use a natural shampoo or soap to clean the hair. As most soaps and shampoos have chemicals, they might be the cause of your problem. Usually the chemicals have a heating effect, and increase acidity locally. Amala (embilica officinalis), Shikakai (Acacia concinna) are very commonly used in India for washing the hair.Use coconut oil or mustard oil at least three times in a week. Put oil on the scalp, and massage gently in the roots of the hair.A mixture of lettuce and spinach juice is good to drink to induce hair growth. Applying juice of green coriander leaves on the head is also good.

good luck.

It all depends, if your hair is really long, then tha is the problem. I used to have really long hair and it did the same exact thing, so I went and got it cut, it is now to my shoulders and I love it, although it took me a while, but you get used to it. Now my hair is growing back strong and healthy. If your hair isn't that long then you may be not getting enough nutrients or vitamins in your hair, I would consult your doctor on the problem.

My hair is really straight too, and I started freaking out when I noticed I was losing hair. But I researched it and found it to be completely normal on average we lose almost a hanful of hair a day. Just remember don't brush your hair when it's wet, Dont over abuse your hair (dye, flat irons, perms, etc) and you'll ne fine, it grows back!

Hair changes as we grow from one stage of life to another
14 is one of those times. We normally lose between 30 and 70 hairs every day.each hair goes into a rest time about every 5 years, that's what we all see every day. it all grows back and it is going on with all of us so don't worry about it
your hair will grow thick and strong.

"Losing" hair is normal but make sure you are not "brushing" your hair when it's wet or you will definitely "lose" hair. Use a wide toothed comb instead. There's nothing you can do to grow more hair, it'll do that on it's own.

ummm, well the only thing i can think of is that you're not taking care of your hair or your brushing it WAY to much, or if your hair has a lot of volume then dont worry about losing some

we naturally lose 200 + hairs a day ,but hair constantly refurbishes itself(except male/female pattern baldness),so depending if ur just losing the regular amount or it breakage, which means ur hair is dry and brittle, then use a good deep conditioner at least twice a week.
