Guitar pickers are those that play guitar for the enjoyment in professional and avocational roles. I'm a thumbpicker and cannot use a plectrum because it hinders full finger style playing. Besides, I can't hold on to them for they fly off into the audience everytime.

I learned the Merle Travis and Chet Atkins way and it works best for me.

It is called a plectrum or pick, not picker. It will be where you left it, assuming nobody else has moved it. I keep mine, my tuner, capo and hex key inside the case so they don't get lost.
