Bible Question?

Question

In the bible doesn't it say that I am your God and you shall have no other Gods before me? Then why do Christians put Jesus before God? Jesus isn't God, he is the son of God, thats totally different than being God. I just don't understand why you make Jesus out to be something he is not.

Christians are not uniform in their beliefs.

I don't think many, if any, would agree that they put Jesus before God. They would either cite the Catholic principle of Trinity, in which Christ is seen as one of three equal parts of the godhead, or say that God is the supreme object of their devotion and that Jesus is the "Way, the Truth, and the Light" and that "no one comes to the Light" except through Jesus, i.e. Jesus is the path to God.

Jesus claimed the authority to restate, clarify, and even alter the commandments of the Torah. This is the essence of the New Covenant, so clearly embodied in the oft repeated phrase "...but I say..." The belief that with His appearance, Jesus changed the relationship between God and man is at the core of all Christian belief. So to a Christian, any apparent conflicts between the Old and New Testaments are of necessity resolved in favor of the New.

The father (God) the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit are all one and the same. It is very confusing and I don't have the answers. I just believe it.

It says in the Bible that "no man cometh unto the Father buy by me". It is through Jesus that we can have a relationship with God.

People in the old testament didn't really have a "relationship" with God. God was GOD. They gave up burnt offerings and offered ritualistic things to please God. They prayed TO God with practiced memorized prayers that didn't really have heart. They didn't talk to God (Except for a few like Job who was really pissed off at God and I would be too if I were him).

Anyway, once Jesus came, everything changed. "Now we can have peace with God (a personal relationship) THROUGH our Lord Jesus Christ". The Holy Spirit is God & Jesus' connection with our thoughts, feelings, emotions, promptings he is the comfortor that lives within all Christians who ask all 3 (Father, Son & Holy Spirit) into their lives, hearts & minds.

The Holy spirit helps direct our steps in life. I could go on and on but would probably confuse you and myself as well. I hope that answered a little bit of your question.

Jesus and God are one. They're kind of like co-owners, neither one being more important then the other. And the only way to God is through Jesus (read the NT gospels). The whole Trinity thing is a hard concept to explain, so I'm not even going to try.

I don't put Jesus before God the Father. However because of all he has done for use we do honor and worship him. God the Father a different and distinct being is the being we pray to though Jesus Christ. I agree don't make him something he is not but give him the respect he is due.

You've actually asked a valid question. Jesus himself said he was not to be worshipped. He came as a messenger to spread the gospel (which means good news) of God's kingdom on Earth (God's government on Earth). This is what is meant by: "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth, as it is in heaven." Jesus also came as a ransom, which paid our sin debt. He never came to be worshipped.

Much of what christians believe is contrary to what the Bible teaches. This is because most christians have been deceived. Because they don't study God's word and aren't being taught the truth, they don't know the truth. Many christians go to church every Sunday. They do this religiously, with Bible in hand. Yet, they don't understand that the sabbath day is on Saturday--not Sunday. They would rather close their eyes to this and follow men, instead of following God. Is it any wonder that they worship Jesus?

Jesus is our saviour, having been the ultimate sacrifice, and he will reign as the King of kings and the Lord of lords, but that will only happen when God's kingdom is established on Earth. That is, when satan and his demons are locked up and God establishes a new government. Jesus is actually the first born, meaning He is the first one to conquer death through the resurrection. When we as christians are risen (which means born again, contrary to what many christians are taught), we will join Him as co-heirs to the throne.

All of this is in the Bible for anyone to read and comprehend. Christians, however, have been blinded and are therefore void of the truth.

You did not understand the words of God in the bible What is mean there is that man should not make manmade graven images to form as human and make him as God., like the images of God being worship bvy other religions.

Jesus is the Son of God, why do you not consider him God. Like you for example you are Peter King and your father is Samuel King so you belong to the King family.

Jesus is indeed God. The Bible CLEARLY teaches this.

In John 10:30, Jesus says, "I and my Father are one."

Jesus Himself said He was God in John 8:58. Jesus answered, "Before Abraham was born, I am!" The phrase "I Am," was the divine name of GOD, used countless times in the Old Testament.

Also read John chapter 1... powerful stuff!

There are many more scriptures that prove this, and there is a website devoted to proving such to the Muslims, and IT IS ALL FOUND IN THE BIBLE!

Jesus is God. Those that reject this truth, and do not repent (like Jehovah Witnesses) will not enter heaven.

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I AM, ye shall die in your sins. (cf. Exodus 3:14)

And Thomas answered and said unto him (i.e. JESUS), MY LORD and MY GOD.

As a side note:
Jehovah witnesses' have repeatedly predicted the return of Christ and have been wrong.
Jehovah Witnesses' refused blood transfusions and have caused the death of some children.
Jehovah Witnesses' reject the trinity and therefore are not Christians
Jehovah Witnesses' believe in a works gospel.
Jehovah Witnesses' believe they are the only true church
Jehovah Witnesses' believe in their Watchtower magazine is equal in authority with the Scriptures.

I think you need to read John, Chapter 1.

It begins;

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word,and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

And further down, it tells us this;

14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us



This is the best explanation you can get. If the Word is God, and the Word was made flesh, and dwelt with us, then God is Jesus.

If the Word itself was not God, then you would be right, however, scripture gives us in no uncertain terms that the two are one.

I agree with you. God and only God. most will say they don't pray to Jesus but just use his name to invoke Gods prayers. God is God people. He is either going to answer your prayers or not. Asking Jesus to intervene will not change his mind. I like to thank Jesus But when i pray it is only to God. I don't want to take anything away from the Big guy.
