I delivered flowers while in college for two years. It was a great job as everyday you made someone's day. However I did not receive a single tip. The flower shop that I worked for said it is not the norm in the industry to tip as the recipient was not the one who paid for the flowers.

This is a tough one. It depends on who's getting them. I've ordered stuff for my husband and I always tip because it's delivered to ME. But if I'm ordering for a family member out of state, I don't have the opportunity because I don't know who's actually delivering them!

Tip someone only if they do extra. Ringing the doorbell is not extra.

A pleasant demeanor, walking up several flights of stairs, waiting a long time, or something like that gets a tip.

No! it's not necessary . The person who is sending flowers has already paid for delivery service.

NO! The flowers have already been paid for... and we all know how expensive flowers are.

Yes, it would have been nice, but it is not required. When you are uncertain about when and when not to tip, think as if it were you on the other end!

I don't think you have to. You are already paying delivery charges. Isn't that enough? But, I guess it's up to you.
