I just had a triple bypass and am doing great--although the pain in my high chest and arms kills me when i try and do light activity---I dont know if i have overdone it or if that is just something that has to heal? feels like ive done about 1000 pullups or something--I started doing some light housework --;loading the dishwasher, laundry--stuff like that but nothing real strenuous.....if anyone has a similar experience to share and maybe give me some sort of idea about what is going on at this point in my recovery, im about 9 days out post op--thanks and have a great weekend!

My neighbour had this just before Christmas when he decided to have a massive heart attack on me.

It is now early may so it was about 4.1 months and he still get's pain from it.

It does get better though.

Eric found, although he felt so much better, that as soon as he excerted himself, light taking down a few christmas lights, he sufferered extreme pain and had to spend time in hospital again

What you have had done is extremely serious and will take time, even a long time to heal anf feel 'normal' again.

Glad you are alive and well again as expected.

I don't know maybe its me, but if I had just had a triple bypass 9 days ago and was feeling like something wasn't quite right I would call the surgeon. Of course your going to be sore but did your doctor tell you that you could start doing things like laundry, thats lifting, and other things. Usually upon release they will tell you when you can start doing your normal things around the house, and if your not sure call them, you don't want to mess anything up do you? Good luck

As long as you let it technically. Forgive her but don't forget what she has done and allow yourself to move on. There is no magic number of days, weeks, months, years or etc to when emotional pains stops but each day if you enjoy and learn to appreciate all that you have that is good and positive in your life and concentrate on all that you have that is good and positive to give to others you can and will make it through this pain in your heart. Bottom line: It hurts it hurts like hell but there is a blessing in all of this it's called the next day and the day after that. What power that holds is the power of the new and unknown and the clean slate to make of it all that we can.

The normal recovery time for this surgery is six to eight weeks. You really have to take it easy for now. Don't overdo anything. Simple things are not easy for you at this time.

You should still be taking it easy, they had to cut muscles and maybe tendons. Those take a long time to heal.Be careful to not over do it.I will take time.
