This girl might be pretty mature for her age (and I have known guys older than 23 yrs who are less mature than an average 17 yr old girl), but I think you are right to have second thoughts. I think you could see what her parents think, that would be a good idea. If you are meant to be together, maybe you can keep in contact, but keep the relationship not too full-on for a while and see how it goes - get to know each other without getting into something you both can't get out of or mess up or resent. You really are both young, but you at 23 are probably legally an adult and she a girl at 17. Some people meet their life partners at a young age, it could be a case of that, but if it is meant to be, taking it slowly should not prevent it happening. I think talk to her parents and the girl, and remember at 17 she is still a girl. Good luck.

I don't think that the big age gap should bother you, if you guys are truly in love than age shouldn't matter and 17 yr olds are usually very mature people so you don't have to worry about the maturity thing. Good Luck, I hope you guys end up together! :)

In the Western world this age gap would be fairly common - however in India the age of consent is 18 to me 10 months doesnt seem a long time to wait in fact it could be a good test to see how your relationship develops in that time & if your feelings grow or not.
Good luck.

Age doesn't matter! As long as you love eachother and are both at the same maturity level then it will work!Remember girls need to date a man that is atleast 3 - 4 years older than her to be on the same maturity level! If she is more mature for her age than she should be she will need somone even older than that! Don't worry about age! Love is hard to find

my friends 16 wit a 23 year old man and i dont kno if its a bad thing. If the girls is matture enough by the age of 17 to kno what and whom she is getting involved with, i say it should be fine so long as her parents agree.

yes, this age gap matters! compare the maturity of a 17-year-old to that of a 23-year-old! most people i know of that age are just looking for flings anyway! with this age gap, i doubt you even want the same things from your relationship. trust me, this isn't love, it's just lust. leave it alone.

The age difference isn't really that bad. However your actual ages may cause problems... You may want to check the age of consent laws in your area if you plan to be intimate with her. In many places it's 18.

At this age, it is a HUGE age gap. When she's 23 and you're 29, it's not such a big deal.
Wait until she's older.
