I'm taking a 3 week business trip to Dahrah. Do I need a special VISA to be able to travel on weekends to Bahrain, across the causway?

First off, you will need to make certain that you have a multiple entry visa for Saudi Arabia and look carefully to the expiration date. If everything is in order, you are all set. We Americans can get an entry visa for Bahrain stamped right into our passports for free on the causeway. It is good for 30 days. There is a 20 Riyal ($5.33) toll on the causeway, each way, and you have to buy insurance in Bahrain for 15 ($4) Riyals which is good for 72 hours. If you are going to do this a lot, get extra Exit and Entry cards for Saudi Arabia so you can fill them out ahead of time to save time. Also, don't forget to fill up your gas tank in Saudi Arabia before you go - gas is a lot cheaper there than in Bahrain. Whoever is arranging your business visit to Saudi Arabia can propably help you with the details. Oh, and there is great scuba diving and you can dive for pearls still and everything!

Since Saudi Arabia and Bahrain Are different Kingdoms, you should have a prior visa to enter to Bahrain, if you are not holding a Saudi residence visa. Certain European nationalities are doesn’t required a prior visa to visit Bahrain; even you can travel through the King Fahd Causeway.

Visit the following link, hope it will help.

Wish you a pleasant trip.

Visas are required by all except nationals of Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

If you do not fall under the a.m. catagory you do need a visa to enter Bahrain. If you are able to obtain a visa up on-arrival depends on your nationality.
For which nationalities this is possible and the requirements for other nationalities to obtan a visa, you'll find here:

If you would be a foreigner living and working in KSA holding a KSA residence visa it would be different. But guess you are visiting KSA on a business visa.

Take care.

If you are from EU you don't need a visa to go to UK (or Ireland). The fact that you have a student visa suggests to me that you are from elsewhere. In that case, yes, you do need a visa to enter Ireland ..... or not, if you are from one of the exempt countries mentioned in GerdP's reply.

To the best of my knowledge, no.

When in Bahrain, I recommend "Hunters Lodge," for drinks. Prices were cheap and energy was high. Just FYI.
