You can give dogs bones at any age.. but never, never give them chicken bones. Chicken bones splinter and can choke, kill a dog. Give the ham or like bones as they will like them and are good for their teeth.

Your Pug needs some serious obedience training. I suggest that you find classes and sign up asap.If he isn't neutered get that done asap as well.
The only chicken bones that are safe are raw ones..necks, wings or backs..do NOT ever feed cooked bones of any kind especially chicken to a dog. Cooked bones can break/splinter and cause serious damage to intestines and also cause blockages.
Also do not play the food game put his food down give him 15 minutes to eat..if he doesn't then simply pick the food up and wait until the next meal. Do Not feed treats or other goodies in between. He will not starve himself and he will learn that he needs to eat and eat what he is given.
It sounds like you have some serious dominance issues going on here and they need to be nipped now as they will only get worse.

Three months is very young. New experiences (cats, kids, etc...) must be introduced in a very controlled manor. Everyone in the house has to understand what the rules are for the dog and follow them. I would mix up a lot of tiny, tiny pieces of chicken in his premium dog food. Everyweek reduce it just a little until finally there isn't any at all. All dogs have the potential to be aggressive if they feel threatened by their environment. Or, he may be naturally aggressive. You might have to consider behavior modification. When you enroll in puppy class the teacher will be able to give you advice after observing the puppy.
Good luck.

At the 3 months old you can give you dog, dog bones. Use them only as reward when and after he eats. That will show him that he needs to eat that food. You should never ever give a dog chicken bones because it can splinter and or get stuck. That is the worst thing for him to have. The dog will eat when he is hungery. He will not starve himself. As for pugs thay are a aggressive dog. You will need to make sure that playing with the dog is good but ruffing around with the dog could get someone hurt just be careful. I can promise if you leave him alone he will eat when he is hungery and then reward him with a treat.

I don't give my dog any bones anymore! He can chew off big pieces then he just swallows them and makes a mess puking them back up.
I don't know that a pug has that much jaw strength (i have a german shepard) but I just stay away from it now.
Don't ever give a dog chicken bones and make sure you supervise them with any bone with meat on it, if they are like my dog they will swallow any pieces they bite off.
As for feeding him they have this stuff that I used to use as treats for my dog I think it is called red barn it is soft but not in a can it is more like a sasuage. He loved it even though he wouldn't eat dry treats you could try mixing it with his food or try some wet food with his regular food.
The aggressive tendancies can show up in any dog he wants to be the pack leader and you and your family need to show him that he is not. I am not a dog trainer but I have learned a lot from watching the dog whisperer and the trainer I hired to help me with my dogs behavior problems. Of course you have to know your dog and weigh all the advice you recieve and keep the good and throw out the bad.
I would say you need to learn how to be the boss and the best thing I have learned with my dog is he can read me and tell when I am not calm and he takes advantage of that. It really takes practice for someone like me to be calm and assertive with my dog but it really does work.

Please NEVER give your dog chicken bones it is very dangerous for them. Yes a pug is stubborn. My pug only eat chicken he doesn't eat at all if there is no chicken in his dog dry food. A pug can be aggressive but not so much. About the cat maybe he wants to play with the cat he doesn't really want to hurt the cat.

DOG FOOD! DOG FOOD! DOG FOOD!
If you own a dog you should know never to giv ea dog chicken bones. these will splinter in their stomich and intestines and cause internal bleeding. This could go unknown and the dog could die because there was no signs. NEVER GIVE YOUR DOG CHICKEN OR ANY BONES FROM A BIRD!!!!!!
Dogs need the vita mines that come in dog food, so don't give in, if the dog gets hungry enough he'll eat the dog food. Dogs can go up to 4 days without eating, and they will show their stubbornness.
You can get chicken flavor vita gravy to pour over the dogs food, but I would NOT give the dog anything else like chicken as a treat, it creates really bad habits, and problems like this one.
Normally pugs can be aggressive, but it's nothing to be scared of. If the dog gets nippy or something of that nature, ignore him.... or you can discipline.

In my time being a dog owner, I have been told by my vets and all reputable magazines to never give dog's human food or bones.
First off, human food doesn't digest as well, and if they become accustomed to eating human food, they will become "beggers". A tiny, bite sized piece of chicken here and there won't hurt, though.
As for bones, only use those rawhide bones that are sold in quality stores in stead of bones and chicken bones from your meals. There are many incidences of dogs choking on these bones, and it being fatal.
If your male pug isn't neutered yet, this is a very large cause of aggression in both cats and dogs.
Most of us are not veterinarians, so I would highly recommend bringing him to your vet and asking about feeding suggestions and how to curb his temper.
If you've just recently got him, he could be adjusting to the other animals, and may need some "alone time", with you and some toys. This "quiet" time helps both cats and dogs, and veteran pets of the house should be gradually introduced to your new pet.
Good luck!

Never give your dog any kind of bone from your food. There are only a couple of kinds of safe bones that dogs can have, so it is simpler not to give them any. Chicken and other bones will splinter when they eat them, and can cause punctures in the digestive system, which is very dangerous. You should not even give him rawhide or other bones until he is at least 6 months old, due to the presence of bacteria. All dogs have the potential to be aggressive. You need to train him not to behave that way. Many behavioral problems in dogs are simple to correct with proper training. He is not too young to be enrolled in a training class, which I highly recommend.

CHICKEN BONES ARE PERFECTLY SAFE AND GOOD FOR YOUR PUPPY! But read carefully; Chicken bones that are NOT cooked, can NOT splinter. Look up information on the web about what is called the B.A.R.F. diet (stands for; bones and raw foods). I can't explain it all here but in short: raw, meaty bones (chicken bones included) provide your puppy with longer chewing periods which strengthen the tooth sockets, stimulate gums, aids in better digestion and the bone itself is a great source of protien. Raw chicken bones break into small pieces similar to the size of little squzre chunks and will not harm your puppy. Stay away from very hard bones that won;t break down easily and could break their teeth. But chicken bones? GREAT TO GET PUP USED TO EATING. Always peel the fat off the piece first and of course as with anything, supervise pup so he doesn't get too excited and choke.

first of all dont give your dog(any age or breed)chicken bones because they splinter and tear up the stomach..ive never heard of pugs being agressive...it is a big mistake most people make(including me) dont feed dogs table scraps because they do not want to eat...feed him only a certain time of day..may sound cruel but he WILL eat when he gets hungry...if you sit the food down for say 45 minutes and he doesnt eat put it up and the next time it is time to eat trust me he will eat...if it keeps it up though take him to the vet. as far as your pug barking at the cat...that is the puppy in him...my puppy does that to my older dog...im suprised my dog hasnt bitten the pups head off...i wouldve lol...
