No. There may be some small amounts of fluoride in the toothpaste, which may be bad for him if he drank the stuff by the bucket load, but toothpaste is swallowed all the time without people even trying. They wouldn't put anything in it that would cause people harm. The actual water he drinks probably has more fluoride and other cleaning agents in it than the toothpaste!

Before I answer I must say that flouride is found in water alone so the water you are swalling can be harmful without a flouride filter however swallowing toothpaste as well can be harmful because it does have flouride in it and many people do swallow small amounts without trying. I'm sure it causes some forms of cancer but o well life goes on.

Do you actually think they would make a product to put in your mouth, that you could not swallow??

I did read recently that the fluoride in the toothpaste is bad for our Thyroid function.

There are considerable amounts of flouride in toothpaste and it has warnings not to swallow for good reason. When flouride was discovered as an industrial chemical byproduct, it was first used as a rat killer,It was on accident that they found it hardened teeth and makes them less prone to cavities. But it is toxic in high doses, Your friend can be slowly poisoning himself.Myself, I use toothpaste that doesn't have flouride. I don't think even small doses of any kind of poison are good for you.

Yes. Read the label on the toothpaste. It says right on it not to swallow it. Besides you need to rinse to get all the food particles out of your mouth.
