Science is not a gathering of facts, rather, it is a gathering of some facts, a filling in of the blanks (unknown) and the rest is just theories. To know how old a specimen is, science has to theorize many catalysts that have enacted upon said sample. Such theorizing would be: Heat, Humidity, Moisture, Cold, Ground temperature, and many other atmospheric related catalysts. Since no one was around to keep record of these daily occurences, science has to make Theories as to how much effect these catalysts could have had when determining the age of lets say fossils. Science never claims these discoveries as "Fact" Although some lay people misinterpret these findings as "Fact" when in reality, they are only Theories. Do your homework and you will discover that 92% of science is merely conjecture. There is very little that science can actually prove, one way or the other. Their latest attempt at explaning our universe' beginning is called "String Theory" ..

..Like previously "Hailed" theories which have been proven false, "String Theory" will come to its demise in approximately 20 years and another "New" theory will evolve.
Put your faith in Christ Jesus, not man.

I put my faith in Jesus Christ where my salvation is concerned. But Jesus Christ didn't reveal the structure of DNA. Science did. Jesus Christ didn't reveal the existence of atoms and their interactions. Science did, though I suppose you don't accept this information since the existence of atoms and the structure of DNA are both "only theories". Your basic problem, like others in your position, is that you don't understand the meaning of "theory" in science. In everyday jargon, "theory" can simply mean an unsubstantiated conjecture. "I have a theory about why the dog is barking". In science, such a conjectural explanation for an observed phenomenon is called a "hypothesis". Only after intensive investigation and the accumulation of abundant supporting evidence can such an idea ever achieve the exalted status of "scientific theory".

Your other basic problem is that you are a member of a manmade tradition that has separated itself from the Church founded by Jesus Christ, the biblical "pillar and foundation of truth", and you are therefore in the sad position of having to try to interpret the Bible for yourself, a practice that clearly does not work, as evidenced by 500 years of continuous division, fragmentation and doctrinal chaos. Conflicting beliefs mean false beliefs since truth cannot conflict with truth, and the history of manmade denominational religion is a history of widespread conflicting, contradicting beliefs. Therefore it is hardly surprising that some of the false beliefs you have fallen into through your inaccurate, unauthoritative guesses about the meaning of Scripture are in conflict with known scientific truth.

I think I know why you are blasting science, and if I am right I side with you..
I think sometimes "science" does its best to disprove God .. Its hard to watch science programming and hold onto faith. But you have to trust in what you believe and agree to disagree .. people will think what they want in any case.
With the way things are today (and yesterday years were not much better) I am glad to hold my belief that there is a higher power. Science is ever changing .. new facts new discoveries.. new theories.. Christ remains always the same.

Why are you so down on science? Science is all about exploration and finding ways to explain things. Scientists are very aware that they don't have all the facts and they seek to discover more. Theories are held until they are disproven. i.e. Einstein's e=mc2, big bang, etc. There is nothing wrong with trying to learn about our world around us. Many scientists have religion or are at least believing in a higher power and still want to explore. I'm one of those people.

That's the problem with this dolt... he/she doesn't understand that constantly-evolving theories (apparently he/she doesn't understand what a 'theory' is... must've slept through science class) are what make science GREAT. As we learn more, we can falsify theories already in place (if applicable) to make them better.

As for that bullshit stat that 92% of science is merely conjecture, I'm sure he's 100% hypocrite if he's/she's taking any sort of medication or has ever been to the doctor.

Jesus Christ is not just conjecture, then? Show me your proof. It's about time that the "theory" that Jesus was The Son Of God was discarded, since there is no proof forthcoming in over 2000 years.

The Bible was written by MEN. Not God.

I just saw a video clip on google video about praying to god, and they pointed out that you can get the same results for your prayers, weather you pray to god or a jug of milk.
