Get a grip . It does take two to make a baby, both are equally responsible for the birth of a child however it is just one choice for the lady and that is yes or no. I also believe that both men and more so women believe that a baby could bring them closer together or some how keep the relationship going, this is however not the case in most cases, and a case where the relationship is bad going in it won't get any better with a baby.So he goes because we as a race feel and are taught that men can't do it as well as women.

It's not a hobby, often sex is the desire, not pregnancy (because the woman could always choose to terminate).
It shows a HUGE lack of responsibility on BOTH parties for not having protected themselves better. If birth control and condoms were used, then it was an "oops", if not then neither party, if pregnancy wasn't desired, had any business having sex.
Alas, since only the woman can get pregnant, she's stuck with more of an issue than the guy. He can move on and she can try to chase him down for child support (which often ends up in years of futility and little to no money) or she can do the best she can alone, and hope he'll at least contribute financially, if not emotionally and physically in the raising of the child she chose to bear and keep.
It's not all the guy's fault...he did contribute, but often women choose to bear children that the guy would have chosen to terminate or adopt out, so they get stuck with her decision as to how the pregnancy is handled...
It's a tough situation, but there are 2 parties involved...not just guys who squirt and run...

I agree with WI MOM. Why is it automatically the man's fault? The woman could have said no; Insisted on birth control, etc. When I was younger, I did some things that I should not have done. Part of it was out of the lonliness factor/maybe we'll be closer. I'm not proud of it. However, I insisted that condoms would be used. I wasn't totally stupid. I knew of the potential consequences. By the grace of God, I came out of that time baby and disease free. Yet, had anything happened, I was mature and aware enough to realize that I was as just as much fault as the guy, if not more so, because I didn't say no.
Now, though, I'm married to a man who loves me for me, not my body (he considers it a wonderful bonus) and I'm pregnant with our first child and my husband is deliriously happy. For that I also thank God.
What's also unfortunate is that if the unamrried man WANTS to take responsiblility, he has little say as they aren't married. He might want to rais the child, give him the proper monetary/emotional/spiritual support, but the woman would have nothing to do with it. She could go out and have an abortion and not even tell the father (who would have raised the child himself if she did not want to do so) until after it's over.
If people would just take responsibility, and realize that the dribble of "fun sex" in Hollywood is fake and just dribble, we wouldn't have this problem, or at least it not be as widespread. Also, it doesn't help that shows like "Friends" glorifies random partners and unplanned out of wedlock pregnancy. (If I had slept my way to the top of a design company, I would be able to afford a baby while unmarried, too, especially with a very involved father to whom I wasn't married.) Unfortunately, we do have this problem.

I would agree with all the other posters. To make a woman pregnant and to assume responsibilities, and cared for her etc, seems like the ethical and moral thing to do, but many don't do that anymore. And sometimes its just desire, but they didn't think at that time that a baby will result. But on the other hand, it does take two to make a baby, . My situation is more or less the same. I was 6 weeks pregnant with my son, when I found out, I wanted to terminate, but the father didn't allow me to and since I wasn't working due to him making me stop working, I had no money. He said no problem we'll get married and raise the baby, we arranged everything, then when I was 6 months he kicked me out of the house and didn't want any contact with me, he said that he didn't care and didn't love me anymore. Now he will not allow me to adopt out the baby, and he will not allow me to keep it, he wants the baby himself, and won't pay child support. It is totally ridiculous. Now I am a single mother.

Although the act of doing something like this is very wrong in itself, on the other hand it is better for him to bail out before the child gets there and comes to know him.
No man should ever lay down with a woman without intending on standing by her if something occurs from it, but in this day and age, it happens, and quite often. Men are not the only ones laying down without thinking it through first.
But if a child is the result and the man is not interested in it, then he needs to go before totally screwing with the poor child's head, the child did not ask to be born, it shouldn't have to feel unwanted by a parent that is to immature to raise it.
Every man should at the very least provide some type of monotary support, reguardless of the fact of any other type.
Then again everyone should take a closer look at sex and the results of it. It is not like we are unaware or uninformed, we all know the drill, they teach it to the kids in 5th grade these days.
Everyone should take responsibility, man or woman.

well that's good that you would, as would I, but some men are too scared to raise a child, they do not think to the long run of things, and their mistakes can cause many burdens to the women and the child. The men who run believe they cant raise a baby and they just put the whole job on the women.

Every individual travels their own road in life. They are responsible for the decisions they make. One adult does not have the right to force their choices on another. This is of course why male/female relationships are so complex. You can only live your life according to what you know, and what you believe, everyone's personal beliefs differ. That's what makes the world go round!

Men who get women pregnant and leave them to raise the child by them selves should be horse whipped. All they wanted was a quick roll in the hay.Yes I agree with you that men can be really stupid. My daughter was done the same way.her son is now 18 and a very fine young man.His birth father has nothing to do with him.But that is ok ,he doesn't need him in his life.

Somehow the parents have failed to instill a sense of responsibility/family in kids' heads these days. Love em and leave em. It's awful.
