The Res-Q-Rail brake operates by pressing on the railway track, rather than on the wheels of the carrier. Explain the advantages of this.

The rails are a bigger heat sink than any part of the wheel so the heat of braking dissipates faster.

When the braking causes wear it is on something that the Res Q owner is not paying for.

Some more information in the link below. The Res-Q-Rail uses nylon wheels to keep it light, but these would easily deform if pressure was applied to them.
