Jewish means a praiser of God
Christian means a follower of the Messiah-from the Greek word Cristos
all the first believers in Jesus are Jewish-and the name was given them in that day-as the common language of the entire world was Greek-even though the Romans had conquered Israel.
this is how I as a Jew found the messiah Jesus-and became a complete Jew-some call me a messianic Jew some call me a follower of the Messiah too. =everyone judges-yet Jesus teaches if your guilty of something dont try to correct others having the same problem, and about judgement it is about needs of others, but not about heaven and hell -Jesus decides that.
Do you buy the first pieces of fruit u see or do u judge for the best quality? do you buy one if its rotten?
this is what helped me to make better judgements of myself
="Professing themselves to be wise they became fools." the bible
isnt this PROOF -EVERYTHING CAME FROM NOTHING WITH AGE-SO IT HAD A CREATOR AND DIDNT EXIST ONE MINUTE BEFORE CREATED
IT DIDNT HAVE A FAIRY BUT BECAME A LIVE WITH A PERFECT DNA-TO REPRODUCE ITSELF PERFECTLY BY ACCIDENT.
had a billion accidents and turned into a human-what more proof to u need than that LOL but i pray for them and Muslims too to come to Jesus=and I share the truth not just a question=The life records prove Jesus came and died-I doubt there is execution records on file-yet it is possible yet take it a step further-Isaiah did more than mention the death of Jesus the Messiah-He recorded it
Isaiah 52:13-53:12, and also said Jesus would be God almighty- Isaiah 9:6 "Unto us will be born a child, a Son is given, and he will be almighty God and the prince of peace."
of course some will say that the Jewish people who reject Jesus put this into their Jewish Hebrew Scriptures so it is not true-why would those that reject Jesus put this in and then leave it there still today? be real
what is the advantage of being a member of a group apposed to the Bible and Creation with many many Creation scientists all back to the masters too such who believed the bible and stood against athiesm that said the world was flat which proved the bible was wrong-because the bible says He made the eartht a sphere." listen to Jesus according to his own religion=
well Jesus said "My sheep hear my voice and follow me." John 10
the problem is we have to do what the good shepherd Messiah Jesus says "I love you repent quickly from your sin (even one lie), Behold I knock on your heart door if you hear my voice and opent he door, I will come in and begin a fellowship with you and you with me, if you repent and ask me in." Revelation 1:1, 3;19&20 and chapters 19-22 about the joy of heaven in salvation, and the agony of hell weeping forever for those that refuse the voice of Messiah Jesus.
As a Jew-I come to messiah from the prophecies Isaiah 52:13-53:12 as I gave this man but he refused to listen- "He will lay down his life as a lamb and make atonement for our sins." will we listen?
LET JESUS HELP YOU, REPENT OF YOUR SINS AND BE NOT ONE OF THOSE SPOKEN OF -IN THE LAST DAYS MANY WILL SPEAK EVIL OF THEIR RULERS AND CALL GOOD BAD AND BAD GOOD.
why not make good music like Amazing grace sung of the one Messiah Jesus thanks
that is how you become true to the Messiah in life and death to heaven from, David

Greenday,
According to the Old Testament, The Jewish People (Israelites) left captivity and were led by Moses to a land of their own. They were given a set of rules to live by called the LAW. They were required to give blood sacrifices and to do as GOD had commanded them led by priests. They were awaiting a savior called the Messiah.
The Christian Faith comes from the Jewish Messiah called Jesus Christ. HIS death, burial, and ressurection began the New Testament reign and will continue until HIS Second coming at the Judgment. HE was born of a virgin Birth and met all of the Messiah's Prophesies in the Old Testament. HIS Original hand-picked Followers (disciples) became HIS Apostles who spread HIS WORD thru the World as they knew it. Have a wonderful weekend and a fabulous LORD's DAY!
Thank you,
Eds, Christian

actually, not as much as some people would have you believe....
Jesus being the Jewish messiah and savior makes believing in Him a totally Jewish thing to do; just because many still are ignorant of this reality does nothing to take away from the jewishness of Jesus.
A Christian is basically anyone who believes in this Jewish messiah and in the Bible it explains that be believing in Him a person becomes "grafted" into the true "Vine" which is Israel. So when a person is a Christian what they are actually doing is accepting the fullness of the Jewish faith in the person of Jesus.
Same God! God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Christians believe that Jesus was the Messiah.
Traditional rabbinical Judaism today does not believe that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah. Observant Jews are still waiting faithfully in accordance with the Rambam’s (Rabbi Moses Maimonides 1134-1204) “Thirteen principles of Jewish Faith” which states in Principle 12 “I believe with perfect faith in the coming of the Messiah. How long it takes, I will await His coming every day.”

A Jew can refer to one who practices the religion of Judaism,or it can refer to a person born of a Jewish mother who might not even follow Judaism.
So,one could be an ethnic Jew and a Christian.

The Jews follow the Old Testament and the old Covenant of Moses and Abraham. They are still waiting for the Messiah and are still under the law.
We Christians believe that Jesus was the Christ, the Messiah and fulfilled the old law. His is the new covenant with all believers.

A Christian is basically a Jew that believes Jesus is not the Messiah. Obviously there are many other differences but if Jews were to accept Jesus as the Messiah then they would convert to a sect of Christianity.

The Jews believe Jesus was not the true Messiah, they're still waiting for the real deal. Jews don't celebrate Christian holidays such as Christmas, Easter etc. as they don't follow the New Testament.
