I answered a question with 'why aye, man'. I don't say it very often but when I do, I most emphatically mean it.
I am from the North East and we speak several variations of Geordie - mine is Mackem-eese. We intermingle our 'language' with normal English but 'why aye, man' is a common phrase and it simply means 'of course'.
Can anyone understand how that is possibly offensive? I personally think the violation I received was a racist act. I lodged a complaint but it did no good.
Not that you're going to get to see this rant because they'll pull it because I'm criticising them.

A note to zekemill....
I find it interesting that it's used in America. It is an everyday word for most Northerners in England and practically everyone in Scotland. It's not that we 'put it on'. It's our language.

Why aye, man! This is something which happens from time to time. Apparently there's a rule about only using the language of the country whose page you are on, which makes it very difficult to deal with those questions where you are asked to translate into another language. I've had more than one violation notice for obliging in this way! But why it should happen to you is baffling, as someone asked an entire question in Mackemeese the other day without anyone raising an eyebrow. I think that there is a good argument for saying that Mackemeese is one of the languages of the British Isles and that therefore it should be allowed and even encouraged.

What was the reason given? If it was "not in English" I think that's sort of true, and a listed reason for an answer to be removed. If it was "not an answer" I can see it as being true, in the sense that a lot of people wouldn't understand it, but not quite fair.
I had an answer removed once (on Yahoo! France) for "not being an answer" which was quite ridiculous, it just wasn't the answer the person wanted to hear (and possibly was grammatically incorrect but clearly THAT is not a violation!)
You can usually criticise Yahoo Answers in the Yahoo Answers category without a violation notice (as long as there's a question in there too)

I think that is patently ridiculous! "Aye" has even been used by people in the New England states since the settlers came over from England and landed on Plymouth Rock. It is actually even used in old English. Some people just never learn. Keep you chin up, and keep answering! -James

Australia is an exceedingly barefoot friendly place, through its heat climate and subculture. there isn't something incorrect with being barefoot, each time, it is healthy, a lot greater hygienic and safer than donning shoes. To associate bare feet with homelessness is easily faulty, maximum homeless human beings certainly placed on shoes, through their very low cost, and others willingness to donate previous shoes to a homeless individual they see. it is amazingly uncommon to work out a homeless individual walking barefoot, till it is via their very own selection. speaking a distinctive language in a public place has a tendency to make others uncomfortable, because of the fact they may be speaking approximately something from homicide to how gruesome somebody close to them is, on an identical time as this many times isn't the case, human beings tend to worry the unknown, and human beings even tend to worry human beings distinctive than themselves. those are purely undemanding dispositions, and on an identical time as not anyone immediately make such assumptions, it does certainly ensue most of the time. i'm hoping you discovered my answer efficient.

you can get reported for everything some bästards around here report an answer or question just for having a different point of view. Yahoo doesn`t read the reports it just deletes the questions and answers. in other words, yahoo answers is ruled by Nazis

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small,
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all.
Go ask Alice
When she's ten feet tall.
And if you go chasing rabbits,
And you know you're going to fall,
Tell 'em a hookah-smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call.
Call Alice
When she was just small.
When the men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go,
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low,
Go ask Alice;
I think she'll know.
When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead,
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"
Remember what the doormouse said:
"Feed your head. Feed your head."

I don't think Yahoo looks at the reasons for abuse. Someone clicks on the button and ... it's abusive. Personally I think it shits - but I can't say I think it's a s***.

Someone reported you for that? And Yahoo took it seriously? That's doubly ridiculous, if you ask me. Which you did.
