It's called Postural Hypotension.
Postural Hypotension is a fall in blood pressure that occurs when changing position from lying to sitting or from sitting to standing. A fall in blood pressure leads to a reduced blood supply to organs and muscles; this can cause a variety of
symptoms.
• Feeling dizzy and light-headed
• Changes in vision such as blurring, greying or blacking vision
• Feeling vague or muddled
• Losing consciousness with or without warning – this is a ‘blackout’ or ‘faint’

When are the symptoms likely to happen?
At any time when there is an increased demand on the circulating blood, for example:
Moving – standing or sitting up suddenly
In the morning – when blood pressure is naturally lower

It's called Hypotension.
Or low blood pressure.

Hypotension can be all the time but when you suddenly have a drop in pressure when rising that causes your symptoms it is call Posteral Hypotension.

As soon as you are raising your head and upper body your blood is rushing down to your lower extremities, causing dizziness from not enough blood and blood pressure in your brain.

Try standing up slowly. Giving yourself and body time to adjust to the posteral change.

Go and see your Doctor for a check up and treatment.

There is no medication treatment for low blood pressure. Only high.

What you are describing is called orthostatic hypotension. Blood pressure drops when going from lying to standing. Blood pressure is suppose to go up when going from a lying to a sitting position or from sitting to standing. We educate persons who have this, to make position changes slowly. When you are lying down and sit up, stay there for 15 - 30 seconds Then stand & stay there for another 15 - 30 sec. Next time you go to the Dr they can do orthostatic BP's to determine if this is what you have. They will do a BP lying, then sitting, then standing. In the meantime, make position changes slowly to see if that helps.

It sounds like you have postural hypo tension. When you are sitting or laying down your blood pools in your lower extremities and so less in your brain leading to dizziness or fainting. Getting up slowly should help this.

This is usually caused by a change in your blood pressure. Its inability to stabilize fast enough. It drops but does increase as well as it should. Then again you may have an inner ear infection. I too have this problem - mine is severe. I will be going for a test known as the Tilt Table Test at the end of the month. You should contact your doctor to get to the root of the problem - I know how frustrating it can be.

you could have a neck problem and that will cause dizziness. It always happens when you stand up as the blood rushes downward. I have had this same problem and what helped me was chiropractic treatment.

I recommend you see a chiropractor as soon as possible. I've enclosed a link where you can find a chiropractor in your area.

You should have your Blood Pressure and your Blood Sugar checked. If those are eliminated, then I'm not sure what could be the cause.
