Children have nothing to do with marriage. You don't need to be married to have one, and it shouldn't be a reason to GET married. Marriage is out of love and committment for one another--children are an extension of the marriage.

Ordinarily it shouldn't be. It should be a thing of mutual love and respect.
But in our society today, am afraid it is. If a couple can't have kids, it may lead to the end of the marriage. Most people see marriage as a means to having children and not for the benefit of having a companion to lean on. Sad.

NO way! Marriage is all about proving your love, respect and commitment for one another.

Although as a side note, lately i have heard from someone that guys marry just to have kids--> if they didn't want to have kids--> no marriage needed (just live together without ever marrying). When I heard this, I thought it was totally silly. I don't think it's true at all.

Greetings,

Marriage is about love, commitment and family (kids). Sadly today, many people treat marriage like a disease that is to be avoided at all costs......most often they prefer just living together, using each other like prostitutes/sugar-daddys to jump into bed with and pay bills together, while at the same time getting all sorts of diseases as they go from boyfriend/girlfriend to boyfriend/girlfriend every few years like taking a bus. These people end up living unhappy lives in the end.

Marriage is family and stability, noble cohesion and purpose. A true expression of love, respect and honor for a lifetime.

Good day,
TCL

Well you should be married to have them because its easier to walk out on someone if you aren't married. I believe you should be married before having sex or children. But that isn't all marriage is about. It is about loving each other, communicating well, being commited enough to eachother not to leave and being able to solve problems well so you won't end up divorced.

No.

Marriage is an emotional and legal contract. You're saying, you are the one and only person I chose to share the rest of my life with.

I know lots of people who aren't having or didn't have children, but wanted to be married.

No. Kids can be part of a marriage, but they're not necessary for a couple's happiness.
