They breed like most any other substrate spawning south american cichlids. Here's a few links with lots of info on breeding them

put a glass divider into a male and female and after few days or weeks if they stop fighting try to put them together if they still fights put the divider again until they don't fight.. if they're stop fighting join them for a few days a u will notice a small beads type..do not wash the aquarium so that the eggs will stay there and hatch.
