it depends on where you are going, casual is almost always a good thing. show your mom she raised you right.

Where are you going? If you are going to a restaurant, find out how fancy the restaurant is and then dress accordingly. If you are going somewhere else find out what your mom is wearing and dress the same level of casualness or dressiness like her.

Depends where you are going too and the weather. Dress in a nice and neat way and you will look great.
