I used to wear tampons from after 18 on and then had to stop about 5 years ago or so as a result of a medical problem unrelated to the tampon itself. Because of that I prefer using pads.
Something that I learned with tampons is that it's still a good idea to have some back up such as with a pantyliner just in case it takes you a bit longer to get the tampon changed. When one waits too long it can create a huge mess because the tampon is so full.
One reason I also prefer pads is that I found them to not be as messy as tampons especially if I made sure to change them about every 3 hours.

I have used tampons since I first got my period at the age 11 or 12. I have had to use pads once in a while growing up, once we would run out of tampons, or if I was monitering my bleeding. I would however choose tampons over pads any day. They seem alot more clean to me. If you do use tampons DO NOT leave them in for too long of a time, you could get sick. I think that is the one bad thing about them, but you don't want to keep one in to long anyway to stay clean and healthy. Hope I have helped a little!!! Good luck

I use tampons. When I was at school I used to wear pads, but in college we had to swim as part of our studies so I had to use tampons as there were guys in my group.
I now find tampons much more convenient and more hygienic as I can't stand the pad's smell (and I changed it a lot...) Also you don't sometimes feel when the blood exits your body.
What I also enjoy of the tampons is if I go to bed at night I take it out just before I go to sleep, but as soon as you get up in the morning you must run for the loo to put it in again as the blood will start running again.

Tampons with a pantyliner usually while I am work....just to make sure. Less muss and fuss with the tampons. Used them nearly from the beginning of starting my periods. Keep pads at home in case I run out of tampons.

i use both depending on the situation.
at home, when it really pours out of me i use a pad. when i need to go somewhere i use tampons, i don`t want to feel the pad uncomfortable.
sometimes at night i use tampons.
both are OK and comfortable as long as you buy the right one for your body and menstrual bleeding volume.
