Well not trying to be mean here, but unless India get some work class bowling, it ain't going to happen.

India have a good batting lineup, so do Sri Lanka and Australia, but those teams can bowl too.

India can score 320 easy in an ODI, but they cannot defend it. When you need to score massive totals to even compete, you are not going to be a good team, much less a great team, and India has found this.

In test matches its even worse.

There is no consistency in the Indian bowling attack, every now and then Pathan will put in a performance thats amazing, and do nothing for the next 3months.

I am sure India will return to the top of world cricket at some point, I just don't see it happening any time soon.

And with the internal problems, its not going to happen until these older players are shipped out.

Financially they are a super power. With this money they can improve there infrastructure, grounds and sports facilities. Just imagine how many more wickets Kalil Dev could have scored if the wickets were a lot more productive.

They are talented but they they are spoilt, because they are rich once they get into the test arena they are not as tough as they once were when they were struggling to get into the side. They have a following and can use the public support to undermine the cricket coaches and hierarchy to boast there own ends if they disagree with their policies.
