Annie - great answer! I was just curious, sometimes I have noticed that people have closer relationships, and stronger family values from certain countries. I thought I'd ask the question and find out if my observations are even close to what I perceive.

Yes, I do love her. Wish she were still around. I'm from the USA (full-blooded Italian descent). She was extremely religious, and worked very hard to instill her beliefs and values in me. I admired her religious devotion. She was, at times, so religious that she seemed very detached, as if the things of this world were of little importance to her. She wasn't the typical mother figure (didn't like cooking, not overly affectionate, and so on), but I respected her, and we understood each other. She died before I reached adulthood, as did my father.
