cross multiply.
then set equal to zero and simplify.
then solve.

-16\t^2-2t-8=4t\t+2
-16 / (t - 4) (t + 2) = 4t / (t + 2)
-16 / (t - 4) = 4t
-16 = 4t (t - 4)
4t^2 - 16 t + 16 = 0
4 (t^2 - 4t + 4) = 0
(t - 2) (t - 2) = 0
therefore:
t - 2 = 0
t = 2

(-16) / (t - 4).(t + 2) = 4t / (t + 2)
(-4) / (t - 4) = t
(-4) = t² - 4t
t² - 4t + 4 = 0
(t - 2).(t - 2) = 0
t = 2 (twice)
