can someone told me what is the different between hotspot and access point...?

An access point is the "transmitter" for all wireless networks. That is what is installed in wireless routers etc.

A hotspot is a location that has an access point setup for public use and usually has control software that will allow or dissallow users to connect.

Access point might mean you have to physically plug into the wall for internet access while hotspot is wireless internet capable.

Hotspot is a WIFI enabled area, like if you went to Starbucks or Panera Bread.

It is simply the access point for wireless
