A truthful ambitious person can not survive in this world there would be wolfs to just make him his prey all round and if you want to survive then you ought to defeat others in thier own field

The relationship of social dynamics among people is much more complicated than the plain old mathematical formulas of Virtues and values in the world that we live in today. Those people who are true exist and will prevail no matter what the forms of society are and however they change. You see being true or honesty are all relative. This is the reason why one's own judgment is the best. If the relationship fades and is going down and you want it, love it and wish to save it then its best to come out in the open admit where you have gone wrong and start from there.
Last, No one forces anyone to be honest or a liar. Its the necessity of survival in the society that plays its part.

Today world is so quick paced and full of corruption that is very difficult for a honest person to survive. Every person wants to outdo what the other is doing and even wants to the things better. With the rate the world is progressing the people wants and needs also rise. people go to any means to attain their needs and as a result it gives rise to corruption. So even if there are honest people they try their best to remain honest and true but with the competition and needs rising they also follow the same course and in due course they also r forced to do things against their principles.

Although some people treat others without any dignity or respect, that's not the norm. There are a lot more "true" people around than not. They are good, sincere and a positive influence in the lives they touch. Don't just blindly trust everybody but try not to base your opinions of others on the actions of one. Having a little faith in a person never hurt. A lot of people are deserving and will prove that to you one day. My motto on people I just meat is this: respect everyone, accept everyone and judge no one. I'm not usually disappointed.

I'm sorry If somebody hurt you like that I sympathize with you. Please though try to put it behind you. Learn from your experience and try to be a better person for it. Be optimistic about your future, don't dwell in your past.

Did true person survive in yesterday's world? What happened to SOCRATES,JESUS, ZOROASTER,LINCOLN,JOAN OF ARK? We mistakenly think that OLD IS GOLD.Remember DISTANT DRUMS SOUND WELL.But when you go near them they sound as harsh. The world was always harsh and cruel.Just remember a few centuries back women and negroes were not allowed to vote.Do you think it was correct? A few decades ago in almost all countries a man could legally rape his wife!I am not saying that everything is O.K. in the present times. But we have come a long way though we have still a long-long way to go.Let's not lose hope, the world will certainly change for the better in the long run.

Guidance has a lot to do with it. Even the most respected people in the world have strayed from a desired path. Self-discipline and guidance from others who watch us are part of what it takes to overcome temptations that can lead us to a lower standard (not class, there is a difference) of living.

Boy do I disagree with some of these answers. The problem with society today is no one is taught to have a backbone and take a stand for what they believe and say no to others. I have never had problems saying no to others when they wanted me to do something I knew was wrong. No one does something unless they want to so if you believe it to be wrong, tell the people no and if they insist you do it anyway, find new friends. You don't need people like that in your life. They should respect you enough to not pressure you when you tell them no but most of all, you need to respect yourself and stick with what is right or wrong for you. I have taught my 17 year old this and she has no trouble with others respecting her and leaving her alone if she says no.

In this Kalyug, truly speaking a true person cannot find any place as had been construed in Satya, Treta and Dwapar Yugs. Because in this age, truth is virtual and has innumerable ways and means to interpret it as per the convenience of the user who himself is a virtual so far attitude is concerned.
