In reality, "Lucky Bamboo" is dracaena – the common houseplant that resembles a sickly palm tree.
That's right. "Lucky Bamboo" is the same strain of houseplant housewives have been dusting since the 1950s. The same ribbon-leafed plant that's been standing in your dentist's office since the Nixon administration. And it's about as mystical, and lucky, as a chicken potpie.
What's even more bizarre is that dracaena is part of the lily family. Real bamboo is part of the grass family. The two plants aren't even related.

The first photo is the bromeliad.. From the bromeliaceae family. I can't make out the particular cultivar from the picture.

The second picture is the Lucky Bamboo, known as the Dracaena Sanderiana.

Both are very low fuss and popular indoor plants..

It's a Bromeliad.Oh I almost didn't see the second one!I still can't see it. But the one with the red leaves comming out is a Bromeliad.A tropical plant. You need to keep distilled water in the middle of the leaves at all times, that is how it waters itself. Don't water it like other plants, just keep water in the well.If you would like detailed instructions for it, You can e-mail me. Bye

The first is a bromeliad...
The second is "lucky bamboo"...I'm pretty sure that's not an official name, but that's what it's commonly called. And it is NOT a true "bamboo plant".
