(1/16) ^ 3/4

We see that 1/2 X 1/2 X 1/2 X 1/2 = 1/16 (16 is 2 to the power of 4) and so

(1/16)^1/4 = 1/2

and (1/2)^3 = 1/2 X 1/2 X 1/2 = 1/8

(1/16)^3/4
= { (1/2)^4 }^3/4

So, according to the property of exponents, the powers wll get multiplied.

= (1/2)^(4*3/4)
=(1/2)^3
=(1/2)cube or 1/8

Hope that helps.

{3^[2]}^[-2/3] = 3^[-4/3], not rational, about .231
