why do people find bay animals cute? why can't adult animals be cute as well?

an example would be the cute bear knut. he's growing up and people think he's losing his "cuteness". i love animals no matter what. does anyone else agree with me?

I agree with you 100%. I think animals are beautiful, and adorable throughout their lifespan.

I guess it's similar to the whole "human babies are cute", while many adults aren't usually looked at in the same way.

I think a lot of people change their definitions as something gets older because they may feel it has a loss of innocence.

For example: A grown woman would be more likely to be considered beautiful, or attractive as opposed to cute - since this implies maturity and difference.

I think both are very cute, my dog is 8 and he is still the cutest doggie ^_^. I think most people find puppies or other baby animals because they are small look harmless and are stubborn like this dog in my animal care class is a 10 week old cocker spaniel and he slids all over the place. Of course it's cute but it's still cute to me if an adult dog did it too.

Humans tend to think of anything small as 'cute.' When an animal is grown up, some might still consider it cute -- but more likely they will say it's 'majestic' or 'beautiful.' It's just a matter of semantics.

Of course all animal lovers will love an animal, whether it's big or little.

My pets rats are adult now. AND very very cute.

Cuteness is all to do with survival. Babies and children are cute so that adults don't eat or mame them. (in normal life)
