I usually buy my evening gawn in a store owned by a strange person. Sometimes he dressed as a man, wearing suit and leather shoes. but sometimes she dressed as a women, wearing a wig and high heels.

When I phoned him/her, what should I call him/her?
Mr or Miss ?

Honestly I'd suggest asking.

I would suggest addressing whichever gender is being used at the moment. I'm certain she would take great joy at being called Madame while she was in her heels and Monsieur while in his suit and waistcoat.
He's not strange at all, my Dear. He's a transsexual and looks much better in dress clothes than I do (I like comfy clothes. Dress clothes make me very nervous.)
Just be yourself and treat him kindly. You two will get along well if you do.

hi I'm a transgendered..you can just talk to me..like you would anyone else..i try to live as best i can..to be like you but it is a tough life ...we are so stereotyped if you saw me in public i would look no differently dressed than your regular woman..i try living full time ,however there are times we cant so you may see us both as a man or woman.....did you know some of us we are so close to suicide because of the pressures we endure from family.friends and society.. none of you know what it is like living to hide your true self always pretending so you don't embarrass your family and bring them shame you are the fortunate ones..be happy GOD was good to you some of us like me ..I'm a mistake...and i have to live with it.

it is always considered polite to adress a transgendered person in the gender they are presenting as . if you see this person presenting as a female most of the time then feminine pronouns would be in order

next time you see the person in the store ask them how they would like to be addressed by. and the person should tell you what they like.

I'd just avoid anything that denotes a gender, like Mr and Miss and him and her.

Just talk. Go direct to your question or comment and leave off the gender pronouns.

Go by the shop and look to see which persona is being
used, then address accordingly.
