I suggest getting a case without a power supply in it and try to get your hands on a MIOS 500W power supply (best one I've ever sold/used and compatible with every motherboard). Your CPU will come with a fan and heatsink so unless you want a different cooling type (like water) then this should be fine, just make sure your case has lots of fans and the ram depends on your motherboard. It will mostly likely be DDR or DDR2 but I recommend at least 1GB. Also, don't waste your time with Windows Vista yet, if you can get your hands on a copy of XP Pro SP2.

At least 2 Gigs of RAM.
Intel E6600 CPU or better.
A good video card like the GeForce 8800 GTS.
Soundblaster Audigy sound care.
Harman Kardon Sticks III speakers. You can buy them refurbished on ebay.
Dell monitor. Best for the money.
Asus motherboard with PCI-E.
Case with 500 Watt or more power supply that has all of the power connections for your motherboard and video card.

the case depends on the motherboard size. finding a mother board is not difficult as the box of the motherboard will state the supported CPUs.
the CPU fan depends on the motherboard connector. the fan box will also show you which CPUs and motherboards are supported.
RAM depends on the motherboard. the motherboard box will show the type and speed of RAM supported.
