First you'll have to get the Rangers to move their farm team.
Second, you'll have to buy the civic arena from Cablevision...good luck.
Third, you'll have to build a suitable NHL arena outside of the mall.
Fourth, you'll have to attract the interest of Gary Buttman and distract him from the glitz of Las Vegas.

The only Whale they should bring back is the Prince of Wales, along with the Campbell Conference. Take the NBA fan friendly BS out of it and get the tradition back. I would like to see the Jets again and the Nordiques. How many empty seats would there be if the present Thrash played in Quebec? Zero.
This game needs some kind of jolt. How about we get rid of the instigator rule, lift the ban on clearing the benches, and give the team that loses any fight a penalty. Reward fighting and keep players like Peters, McGratton, Laraque and Brashear gainfully employed. Replace Betteman with Vince McMahon or Don King.

I myself think that we should take away and then bring back the following teams:
Take:Colorado Avalanche
Replace:Quebec Nordiques
Take:Carolina Hurricanes
Replace: Oakland Seals
Take: Florida Panthers
Replace: Hartford Whalers
Take: Phoenix Coyotes
Replace: Winnipeg Jets
Take: Pittsburgh Penguins
Replace: Colorado Rockies
Take: Dallas Stars
Replace: Minnesota North Stars

I liked the North Stars way better than the Wild... it was one of the real creative names in the NHL. I wish the Jets would return... I don't especially care about the Whalers.
And a lot of fans don't care unless their team makes the playoffs... go to Philly and see how many people you can find wearing Flyers clothes this year.

Well, most likely. There most likely was a sea in the Garden of Eden, and so there probably was a whale in it. Since the Bible says that Adam named all the animals, a whale has to be included, because it is a animal. Look up Genesis 1:20, there is the answer for you. I hoped that helped.

Considering you have NJ fan in your name how can you call out attendance at another arena? If they don't care in Carolina then explain how the building averaged over 17,500 this season when in fact the team didn't make the playoffs. Are you aware half of the population of Raleigh is relocated Yankees? Go join your 2,000 other Devils fans that attend your games and get a clue.
The Nords, Jets and Whalers aren't coming back. Get over it! The past is the past. Maybe your Devils should move so someone will actually go to one of there games. Just to clear something up here, attendance in Quebec wasn't great when the Nords played there. The team is much better off in Denver.

It would take a Penguins fan to know how fans don't wear their team colors when the team isn't doing well.
The Dallas Stars will never change their name.
The Whalers will not return.
The North Stars name will continue to pass into history.
The city of Winnipeg MIGHT get a team.
The Kings have great colors and only need to remove "Los Angeles" from the bottom of the jerseys.
The NHL not only needs to, but eventually will reduce the amount of teams it currently has.

I wish all the places that don't deserve to have a hockey team (Tampa, Florida, Carolina, Nashville, Columbus, Phoenix, Anaheim, Washington) move their teams to places where hockey is appreciated. That should include Winnipeg, Quebec, Hartford or neighbouring Northeast US area, even Regina and Halifax (but of course I realize they probably cannot support a major league NHL team).
One can even argue that "successful" teams in New Jersey, Long Island, Pittsburgh, San Jose are not good hockey bases either. They can draw good crowds when the teams play well, but otherwise not much support.

I'd like to to see the league go back to the original division and conference names. This whole 'east', 'west' and 'atlantic' thing is plain bland.

I love your ideas, but they ain't gonna happen. Hartford was lucky to get a team in the first place and they'll NEVER get one again. Winnipeg? Maybe.
