According to the activation-synthesis theory of dreams, the dream probably has no meaning at all. (Sorry, that may not be what you wanted to hear.)
Although dreams are influenced by our thoughts throughout the course of the day, this does not mean they are special messages to us that we should carefully consider.
Here's one perspective:
"Activation Synthesis Theory is a neurobiological theory of dreams, put forward by James Allan Hobson and Robert McCarley in 1977, which states that dreams are a random event caused by firing of neurons in the brain. This random firing sends signals to the body's motor systems, but because of a paralysis that occurs during REM sleep, the brain is faced with a paradox. It synthesizes a narrative by drawing on memory systems in an attempt to make sense of what it has experienced."

Reptile
To see a reptile in your dream, symbolizes your basic urges, instinctual nature or suppressed sexual desires.
Lizard
To see a lizard in your dream, signifies your primal instincts and reactions toward sex, food, etc. and your anxieties toward these feelings. The lizard can also be representative of a person who you view as cold-blooded, fearful, or thick-skinned. On a more positive note, the lizard also symbolizes emerging creativity, renewal, and revitalization. It may also suggest that you are well-grounded.
Alligator
To see an alligator in your dream, symbolizes treachery, deceit, and hidden instincts. It may be a signal for you to take a new perspective on a situation. It may also represent your ability to move between the material world of waking life and the emotional, repressed world of the unconscious. Alternatively, the alligator represents healing powers and qualities.
To dream that you are running away from the alligator, indicates that you are unwilling to confront some painful and disturbing aspect of your unconscious. There is some potentially destructive emotion that you are refusing to acknowledge and owning up to.
According to biblical interpretations, an alligator suggests that leviathan is king over the children of pride. (Psa 74:14, Job 41:1,Isa 27:1)

I have found that you can connect quite easily people's dreams with their emotions. I have been able to tell a few friends exactly how they feel from hearing some of their dreams. I agree with the first person. The lizard is something that you're frightened of and/or worried about. The crawling up and down is most likely a moving back and forth of having to worry about it and not. Like a threat that comes and goes.

There's something in your life you don't like, that's scary and you are afraid of it, and are afraid to confront it.
This thing in your life is the alligator reptile. Doesn't necessarily have to be a person, but perhaps a situation or problem you are up against.

Same with horoscopes and such. Dreams mean nothing. If you start trying to make reason and sense out of dreams, you will find yourself believing in things that are not real. Stay in there here and now, enjoy life, it is short.

Hi Lady,
Alligators in dreams usually are a signal that someone influential is gossiping about you or slandering you, spreading lies about you, behind your back. Do you feel like you're in a situation like that?
