I flew the first time in my life in May of 1985, and I thought it was amazing! I have flown quite a bit since then and now I find it quite a hassle. I dislike the whole bit of checking in, having to be on the airline schedule, being crammed in (i'm 6'5") a seat that is too small, breathing stale air, and then having to wait for your damn bag afterwards... I now would rather drive, even long distances... I like the idea of seeing different places, and the lay of the land from the ground, on the way to my destination. I have never flown in a small plane or helicopter, but I imagine the initial excitement of flying would return for awhile...

When I first flew at the age of 16, I thought it was a great adventure. It is too much of a hassle now. I have always hated small airplanes. I would drive, but I just rarely have the extra time for a road trip. I still find air travel necessary, but it is certainly evil.

Yes to all. Helicopter was amazing. If ur 6"5 prepare yourself for a lousy haircut. Small plane scary while turning pressed against the door...looking at the ground. I like the take-off and landing of the big planes, but not crazy about long flights. I haven't flown since 911 so I haven't experienced the waiting. If u ever get the chance to go in a helicopter......... go. My dream would be to fly an F-16.

Yes. But I agree with you. I don't also like the hassle of being in an airplane. Driving is definitely a better idea.
