It is normal in that it does happen to other kids that age, but it is an indicator that something is out of alignment. As a holistic doctor, I would take the child to someone who looks at physical and emotional issues simultaneously. Bedwetting can also be an allergy to fabrics - ie, cotton or flannel. Good luck.

It can be. Bedwetting is generally due to physical problems. The 12 y/o should be checked by a doctor. There are ways to cause the 12 y/o to become more sensitive to a feeling of fullness in the bladder. Your doctor should be able to help you with this or refer you to someone who can.

I was eleven or twelve when I stopped. The doctor suggested I stop drinking milk. I did and stopped wetting the bed. I drink milk now (I'm 38) with no problem though.

No! Get that kid to a doctor, plus cut off liquids an hour before bedtime and make sure they go to the bathroom before bed. At 12 they should be housebroken.

No, definitely get them to a doctor soon. IIRC, it can be a symptom of both physiological and psychological problems so...yea...get that checked.
