I am having a really crappy night. I'm friendless, boyfriendless, and talentless. So of course I want to feel worse by listening to sad songs=] Something kind of slow I guess, or something with a guitar. Or acoustic. Basically anything is welcome though. Thanks in advance.

of montreal has a ton of great songs actually and they have a great way of cheering me up. most of the lyrics are depressing but the singer has such a wonderfully fun sound.

heres some of his best songs ive heard from his new stuff
1.gronlandic edit
2.shes a rejector
3.sentence of sorts in konsvinger
4.no conclusion (super depressing yet fun song 9 mins long.. off his newest EP)
5.suffer for fashion

i recommend listen to the rest of their songs but those will get you started.

arcade fire has some nice intriguing songs that have a wonderful sound to them as well and their lyrics are quite negative... one of the best of albums of 2007.
listen to the songs:
1.intervention
2.well and the lighthouse
3.black mirror
4.keep the car running
5.my body is a cage

now if you actually are taking me seriously which i fully believe you should give patrick wolf a shot. his music always helps me escape.. its not necessarily considered depressing.. but extremely fun.
listen to:
1.magic position
2.accident and emergency (this is a great song to listen to when times are tough)
3.bluebells
4.tristan
5.to the lighthouse
6.stars
7.get lost

and sometimes listening to something beautiful as Andrew Bird would turn your frown upside down. another super album in 2007. listen to:
1.heretics
2.plasticities
3.imitosis
4.fiery crash

living in confusion, i refuse to be lonely, living all alone, all of those songs are by phyllis hyman...those songs are quite haunting because you can hear the pain that she was going through in the way she sung those particular songs... unfortunately she committed suicide and the suicide note read, "I'm tired. I'm tired. Those of you that I love know who you are. May God bless you." but she lives on...

hey you dont be down and depressed you have to be patient change happens eventually you just have to hold on have confidence that you will find friends, love and what you are good at...sometimes we are stuck in our own heads that we forget about the people that really care about us...sometimes we have people that can brighten our day up if we just open up and express how we feel they will listen and comfort us...dont be discouraged...

Here are some songs that make me cry..
Don't take the girl Tim McGraw
Two Teardrops Steve Wariner
You were Mine The Dixie Chicks

I don't even like country, but these songs do it to me everytime.
Why do you want to continue feeling sad anyway? Don't you want to be cheered up?

If you really wanna feel sorry for yourself, I suggest listening to old Sinatra albums. Nothing better for a good cathartic cry.

However, if you wanna move yourself toward the suicidal, I would suggest Laura Nyro.

Maybe a better approach is to play something really rockin'. Manic trumps depression everytime.
