If it succeeds, which is iffy, it will have freed the Iraqi people and given us an ally in the region.

As far as dollars in return for things that have gone horribly wrong. Nothing. Although, I would like to mention something though. Most soldiers who are fighting there believe they are doing the right thing. In a nutshell, it would be this, to give the Iraqis a chance for real freedom, a chance to be able to do certain things without fear. If we had people who think that fighting for another person's freedom is not worth it back during the Revolutionary War it would have never been fought. Remember the Revolutionary War was basically over taxes and government interference. Although, many people may not agree with me but an Iraqi life is worth the same as an American. Yes, WMD was a lie but hopefully, the military can bring something good out of this

Try to understand. Islamic Terrorists declared war on the US. Bush had nothing to do with that. It's either a trillion dollar war over there or a 10 trillion dollar war here. Take your pick. Do you really want to have the trillion dollar Iraq oil fields in the hands of Islamo-Fascist terrorists?

It will have freed the Iraqi people from their sadistic leader Saddam and provided another ally for us. It will have brought freedom and democracy to people that have never known it before.
And don't worry too much about the Republican party. When you look at the candidates their up against, you should shouldn't be too worried.

you know the answers. you just refuse to acknowledge them. you shut out, attack and criticize everything that doesn't fit into your private agenda, choosing instead to live only within what is your preferred reality.
but, you're right: when one's heart is closed to the iraqi people and one's vision non-existent beyond what they can physically see, there is not one thing to be gained in this regard - for them.
thank God that so many of our blessed soldiers in iraq don't see it that way and thus, are committed, along with our President, to staying there in an effort to keep you from seeing the death and tragedy they have had to witness there, here.
but, as i said, some of us have no awareness for what is not physically right in front of them and for those people there is no chance of hope for enlightenment.

This is the most ignorant question I've seen all week.
Maybe it will do your heart good to know that in the end, there was at least an attempt to fight terrorism. At least there was a president who wasn't afraid to fight for freedom. At least there was a person who stood up and took the challenge of it, and disregarded what oblivious people such as yourself say. Apparently that doesn't qualify as an accomplishment to you?

Well we do need to thin the herd - 6 ? 8? 9? Billion people
The arms dealer was starting to get poor thank god we took care of that
Now the threat of terror is real not just imagined by Bush - Yes now whole nations hate the US and are actively plotting where before they weren't
And the US got to test out what uranium shell caseings do to humans when dropped in multiple tons -
And most importantly Bush jr showed the world ain't no one gonna make my daddy look like a fool

THE BODY COUNT IS AND WILL BE THOUSANDS LESS THAN WWI AND II COMBINED.
When people join the armed forces....it is to fight for this country when and if needed.
If they don't want to do that...then they shouldn't have signed up.
At the very least it will make other countries think twice before blowing up some more Americans.
We are Damned if we do and damned if we don't

Simply put, we can carry this policy to its successful completion, or we can throw in the towel and accept the premise that terror tactics - the indiscriminate slaughter of thousands of innocent people - is an acceptable way to pursue ones objectives of hatred and domination.
We know which sidelines your on.
