by trunks do you mean boxers? if so, then when wearing loose fitting pants they are very comfortable. but when wearing snug or tighter pants, such as some jeans, then briefs/whitie tighties/scoobies, etc are better because, to put it bluntly, they kind of package things up so you don't get hurt, i.e. sitting down and the inseam of the jeans kinda smashes things. wow-that's pain
