I got genital herpes when I was a virgin. But, I had boyfriends go down on me. I heard you can get it that way, but none of my boyfriends ever had visible cold sores. Then it seemed one day I had it! It had to be from the oral sex that I got the herpes from, because like I said, I was a virgin when I got them. How could I have gotten the genital herpes if my boyfriends never had visible cold sores?

It's possible that you got genital herpes from someone giving you oral sex (you don't need visible sores to pass the virus).

It's also possible that you came in DIRECT skin to skin contact with someone who has the virus. DIRECT skin to skin contact like mouth to genitals, or even just rubbing genital areas together (like dry humping) is enough to spread the virus. Again, you DON'T need visible sores to get the virus.

I got the virus over 6 years ago from a guy who had no signs or symptoms of the virus. I believe he received oral sex from a girl who had cold sores which then caused him to get genital herpes caused by herpes simplex virus 1. He also failed to mention to me that he had the virus.

You could always get a blood test done (if you haven't already). This can tell you what kind of herpes you have (herpes simplex virus 1 or 2). I've also never had cold sores in my entire life but I tested positive for herpes simplex virus 1.

My understanding is that you can get genital herpes by having contact with someone who has an oral herpes infection - even if the person didn't have an obvious outbreak. The type of herpes you have been infected with can be tested to see whether it's type I or II.

When attempting to prevent genital herpes, it's possible to transmit the virus even when someone doesn't have any blisters, so it's natural to assume the same thing about oral to genital transmission.

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes virus (type 2) about 5 years ago, while I was still in college and had a stupid one-night stand. I understand loads of girls will say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and all of a sudden it seemed like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with a girl that has sores round her private parts? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/aoXLX everything improved.

Not only was I able to clear away all remnants of the herpes simplex virus from my body in less than three weeks, but I was also able to start dating once more. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just last week, in front of everybody in a packed cafe, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This method gave me back the chance to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to help you too by sharing this with the World.

I believe that you can get it if your bf has genital herpes and performs oral sex. It could also be that he touched himself (scratching, maybe playing with himself), then touched you - it is frequently transmitted when there are no visible signs on either the lips or the genitals. I hope you know which one it was, or he'll keep on passing it to other people.

Good luck!

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.

You had a boyfriend who was too much of a coward to tell you he is infected. A lack of cold sores doesn't mean herpes can't be transmitted

You do NOT need to have any visible lesions to pass on the herpes virus - don't you watch TV ads?
Either one of your partners had it, or the person they performed on before you had it.
