Bush tells America "we are bringing Democracy to Iraq"

Did they ever ask for it , know what it is or want it?

Trying to shove democracy onto people who never asked for it won't ever work.

In order for YOU to peacefully remain living in a democracy, the countries that pose a threat to the United States must be changed in order for us to sustain liberty. They did not request change, and the things you hear on the media are not what they are made out to be. They can doctor whatever they choose. There is change going on there. It is just not spoken of since democrats which hold the majority of the positions in the media, are determined to set President Bush on his downfall. Our democracy took more than 200 years to develop. What makes Americans think that the democracy Bush is trying to advocate in other countries is going to happen overnight? It is a work in progress. They did ask for it by enacting 9/11. Americans don't stand for that without response.

Saddam was taken out and the people had to have some kind of government to replace Saddam's regime.

Can you think of a better form of government than democracy?

No one is forcing anything on anyone. If we wanted to do that, we would already have done so. The idea of partitioning Iraq, that some Liberals are behind, is forcing something on the Iraqis.

You're right that they didn't ask for it but you really can't put that on George.

Remember, George picked "WMD", then "the world is better off without Saddam", and then "bring democracy to Iraq".

It was George's third choice of reasons for invading Iraq. I'm sure George isn't happy to be using his third excuse. Iraq will just have to live with it.

a true Democracy is something you have to want so bad that you are willing to die for. It is not something you ask other people to die for. Judging by the length of time tha Saddam was in power, it doesn't appear that the Democracy was that high of a priority for the Iraqis.

No they didn't and that was never cited as a reason to go in. Simply, Sadaam repeatedly violated the terms of the cease fire after the Persian Gulf War. That along with the belief he was producing WMDs (whether it turned out to be true or not) was the reason for the invasion.

You have evidently forgotten about that bill that Bill Clinton signed which called to the liberation of Iraq and the establishment of democracy in this country. Oddly enough, it's called the Iraqi Liberation Bill.

It can't have been Bush's brainchild if Clinton signed the legislation.

Bush should go in there and kick butt. He isn't. Bring all the f-16s and other tanks and stuff and let the enemy have it. Iraq didn't ask for it. I think Bush wanted to get rid of saddam for years.
