With a blessing like that all i need is the answer "yes". If not...any suggestions for a comfortable low seat height cruiser or sport tourer comfortable for 2-Up riding will be greatly appreciated. And if ya ever bike up to NYC i'll be your free tour guide..!!

Thanks in advance..!!

Change the saddle, add the pegs and go riding. Below are the stats on three Sportys. First being Nightster, followed by 1200 Low and then and 883 Low. Can can see they are pretty much the same, and the latter are 'two-up' scooter. But remember, there are weight limits of the GVW design.

Watch for operators of cages, they still don't see us. Be safe.

You will have to try one on and see how it fits you. Try visiting a dealer, because there you can see the different bikes at the same time. (Even if you are going to buy a used one on the private market, Tell them you are just looking and would like to see what fits.) I think you are going to need a larger motorcycle, as you are not only heavy, but phsically large. The only think I don't like about the Nightster is the fact it is a dark motorcycle. I think you have a much greater risk of being hit at night with one of these, than with one that is more brightly colored and has more chrome. They ARE good looking! You should also take one of the motorcycle skills courses. You will learn a lot, get a chance to ride a bike and see how they are, and get good advice from your instructors about fitting yourself to a motorcycle. The dealer can adjust the height of nearly every motorcycle, as Harley makes adjustments through the way the equipment fits, so if you do find a used one you like, you can take it in and tell them you need it made 2" taller at the seat height. I am the opposite of you, needing a bike that has a low seat height because my legs are short. I have an FLH and also have ridden Fat Boys, which I really like and which I would buy if I could afford one. You might want to look at some of the larger Harleys, unless you are absolutely fixated on the Nightster. Good Luck and happy riding!

I have only seen the nightster with a solo seat. There is certainly enough power there for two people if you can configure the bike for that. You should consult your Harley dealer and see if they can get a Nightster in a 2 up. They are a very cool bike.
The best fix would be to get one for your wife too. It would be a shame to change the nightster into something that it's not. Consider a 1200 low or custom, maybe even a dyna low might do the trick.

As long as it has a passenger seat and foot pegs you can ride two up on any bike. A back rest will make your passenger feel more secure, too. You'd certainly have plenty of power with the Nightster. One thing to keep in mind is passenger comfort. If your passenger isn't comfy, then they won't be happy. As for your height, I'm 5' 3" and ride a 2005 Fat Boy and can touch flat footed with ease. Same with a Heritage, which I've ridden several times with no problem.

I know plenty of folks that ride two up on sporty's, even 883's!!
The bike will have plenty of power for both of you if the two of you weigh less than 200#'s ea.

You're gonna love the totla Harley Davidson experience, believe me, its something you just don't get with the "wanna be's"

The solo seat can be changed and foot pegs added ----no problem whatsoever

Have fun Ride safe

Yes. Of course you can. The 1200 engine does not have enormous torque, but still you can do it. There is a Sreaming Eagle option that might be better. Basically you are looking at the available power to carry the total weight.
If my memory serves me correctly the 1200 engine makes about 60HP. If you add 120 pound passanger you will definitely see less response, but you can do it

If you bought a 1200n,you should only expect to have 1 person in the first place! This bike is unique, why change it.By the way,it puts out over 70hp at the rear wheel! Plenty of power! If you want one for a passenger, then I would suggest a 1200 low or custom.

I have a 2004 Sportster 883C, which I put a touring seat on and a sissy bar. The touring seat is very comfortable and my wife can ride with me. It is good that you want to include your wife on the rides, you will find it easier to get alot of ride time when she can also go with you. The touring seat was the best investment for me and my wife. We ride all the time. Ride safe, enjoy the view.

YES.
The most common thing changed on HDs is the seat.
The footpegs are available as well.
Get the one you want, and change it as you like.
"Unique" comes from the owner's customization, not the factory.

No. The Nightster is manufactured as a solo seat bike. It does not have passenger pegs. While I like it, you would do better to get a "hugger" model, built for passengers.

If you are open to other brands, the Yamaha "royal star" line has low seat height cruisers that are 2-up
