Perhaps some ballet flats? They're cute and comfortable, but dressy enough to wear to work. A lot of times though, the back of the shoe can dig into your foot if they haven't been broken in yet, so I suggest you either break the backs of the shoe before wearing them to work or buy ones made of soft leather.

There are so many styles to choose from. Low heels are a good idea, nothing more than 2 inches for work shows conservatism.

Try d'Orsays, Mary Janes, exotic or embossed leather (like crocodile, ostrich, etc) pumps, kitten heels, etc - and if your employer allows open toed shoes like peep-toes and slingbacks.

Payless pumps and Asos have quite trendy selections if you're on a tight budget.

Try Born shoes. They are pretty cute and work well if you are on your feet all day. My friend who was a waitress swore by them.
