11 dimensional string theory, (and 26 dimensional M theory), has not produced anything.
It is possible that the extra 7 dimensions of space, (that are not perceived), are mathematical deception, and therefore string theory is a theory of nothing, as you will find if you read the wikipedia article on string theory all the way to the end.
There aren't any competing theories. Then there is 21 organizations spying on the population at the same time with plain clothes agents that have fake names and backgrounds.

M theory, membrane theory, quantum gravity, loop quantum gravity, more I can't remember, and innumerable variants of each. There is as yet no clear winner or even leader.
