Gee I must be unique in that I have a light in my fridge and freezer. That queen would have had many nose gays for her guests. There was a a belief by people in the dark ages that if you had maggots in open wounds you were a lucky person.

Do you have some proof of this? Many famous people are accused of saying/doing very racist things and the claims turn out to be false (see Elvis, Lauryn Hill, and Tommy Hilfigger)

When people were obsessed with degrees of blackness in the nineteenth century, there were many words to describe people with black ancestors. "Yellow" referred to the color of one's skin, and meant light-skinned or almost white.
