I feel so foolish asking this, but i have watched tons and tons of history channel specials on this, AND NONE of them actually say why he was assassinated, they just say who did it...So i am just wondering?

Lee Harvey Oswald killed him because he wanted his own wife and children to view him as an important man. He was deeply and I mean DEEPLY insecure and psychologically troubled which is why he decided to kill JFK. He thought if he did that he would finally be somebody "of consequence" in the eyes of his family.
The Mafia may have done it, but I doubt it, too many people would have had to be in on the conspiracy and the Mafia is never that sloppy when it comes to revenge. The Mafia would never have included a nut-job like Oswald in their assassination plans.
The CIA and FBI wouldn't have done it. It would have been easier for them to ensure Kennedy wasn't re-elected, which was very likely even if they didn't rig the '64 election, which they would have if it came to that.
Cuba didn't kill him because doing so would have given us reason to permanently occupy their country. Castro would never have been so stupid.

well...there is soooo much controversey surrounding this...I think based upon evidence and eye witness accounts, that JFK was killed because he did away with the federal reserve, and actually started printing money taht said "United States Reserve" on it instead of "Federal Reserve". Under the constitution, it states that congress shall coin and print money. They do not. They contracted out to the federal reserve, who uses paper money backed by private banks. The United States Reserve was backed by the gold in Fort Knox.
Kenedy tried getting rid of this, some big wigs got upset...and poof...some unheard of guy without a shaky, almost made up history shot em. The more important question is why was his younger brother assassinated...along with his son...

. Everyone has their own theory.This is one of history's biggest mysteries. Even if Oswald was the actual killer one has to wonder if he wasn't used as a patsy and why he was killed by Jack Ruby before he had a chance to talk. I personally believe in the corporate/military conspiracy theory

Well having seen quite a few theories on British TV. One very recently it leads me believe it could have only been a political assassination.

many conspirisies out there, an interesting one, thats not heard as often, is that he was killed because he was a catholic and a member of the knights of columbus. every president before and after was associated with the illuminati and the free masons, except JFK because catholics cannot join the free masonry guild.

My theory. JFK accepted large contributions from known
Mafiosos. He got elected. He then made his brother, Robert Kennedy Attorney General. RFK went after the mob with a vengeance. They were not happy campers and I think they were behind the assassination of JFK.
I can't believe Chi Guy and I agree on anything. Gasp!

Seriously, if you do figure that out, please write a book or make a movie and let the rest of us know. Don't feel bad about not picking up on this yet. Basically, all we have is the information about how he died, but very little motive other than conjecture or conspiracy theory.
