The states would each get to decide whether abortion is legal or not and under what conditions, if any. It would be similar to the State constitutional amendments regarding gay marriage. The State legislature would vote for it and if it passed then it might go to a voter referendum.

Then women would lose the right to choose...even though I'm Conservative and I believe abortion is wrong, I believe a woman has the right to choose whether or not to have the abortion. Overturning Roe v. Wade would be a bad idea

Abortions would still take place - just like they have throughout history.

The difference would be that tens of thousands of women would die at the hands of the back alley butchers and attempts at self-abortion - just like they did before Roe v Wade.

Trust me; IF A WOMAN DOESN'T WANT TO GIVE BIRTH, SHE WON'T.......whether abortion is legal or not.

I'm curious why a male would be so obsessed with this issue. This is about the 4th or 5th post concerning abortion this evening...by you.

Are you suffering from uterus envy?

Nothing. Abortion would still be legal in the states that had already legalized it prior to Roe v. Wade. And I would guarantee you that most of the states that had outlawed abortion before Roe v Wade, would quickly change their laws.

The republicans wouldn't win an election until the case that overturned Roe V. Wade was overturned.

Interestingly, a book called Freakonomics points out that when abortion was allowed in certain states, crime dropped dramatically. When it was outlawed, crime increased. The conclusion is that many women who have serious problems (ie drug addition, bad financial problems, abusive husband, etc), tend to not want to have kids. When they are denied abortions, they end up having the kids, who then grow up unwanted in a miserable household, or get sent to orphanages. As a consequence of their miserable upbringing, they are more likely to commit crimes. Interesting, no? Check the book out yourself if you like.

States would decide, and if enough decided to make abortions legal then the anti-choice people would go first for a federal law making it illegal to cross state lines for abortion, then for a federal law against abortion, then for a federal law making it illegal to leave the country for an abortion. Control Control Control.
